A largely industrial corridor around Chef Menteur highway in New Orleans East, Viavant was named after the Viavant family who were large landowners (George Viavant brought his family into the bayous to paint wildlife). Viavant-Venetian Isles is home to Folgers, NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility, Dr. Tichenor’s Mouthwash, as well as other packaging and shipping facilities.
