Gallier House
Gallier House, located in the French Quarter, was designed by famed architect James Gallier Jr. in 1857. The meticulously restored townhouse offers a rare glimpse into the domestic life of a wealthy 19th-century New Orleans family, complete with period furnishings and original architectural features.
As a museum, Gallier House explores the intersection of design, technology, and daily life in antebellum New Orleans. Visitors can tour the home, including its courtyard and slave quarters, gaining insight into the lives of both the family and the enslaved people who lived and worked there.
