The Jackson Barracks Military Museum
The Jackson Barracks Military Museum tells the story of Louisiana’s citizen soldiers, from early French settlement through today’s National Guard operations. Housed at the historic Jackson Barracks on the edge of the Lower Ninth Ward, its galleries hold weapons, uniforms, vehicles, and artifacts across centuries of service. Open Tuesday through Friday with no admission charge; bring an ID, as it sits on an active base.
