Hunter’s Field Playground
An open field and gathering ground under the I-10 overpass on North Claiborne, named for the Yellow Pocahontas Mardi Gras Indians. Since the late 1960s it has been a cultural anchor of the 7th Ward — a regular stop for second lines and Mardi Gras Indians and a place where elders mentor neighborhood kids.
