The Malus-Beauregard House is a striking Greek Revival mansion overlooking the Chalmette Battlefield, where the 1815 Battle of New Orleans was fought. Built in the 1830s and remodeled to its columned form in the 1850s, it passed through a succession of owners — including a son of Confederate general P.G.T. Beauregard — before joining the national park. Today it’s a photogenic landmark on the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park grounds in Chalmette.
