Old Spanish Custom House
One of the oldest surviving buildings along Bayou St. John, the so-called Old Spanish Custom House at 1300 Moss Street dates to the 1700s and shows clear West Indies influence, right down to its raised exterior staircase. Despite the name it was never actually a custom house — but it remains a rare, atmospheric survivor from the city’s earliest days.
